The Unseen Burdens...
As a believer,
As a Jesus follower,
Laying down our burden should be easy, right?
But it's NOT.
Laying down burdens is like,
Peeling gum off the bottom of my shoe,
It's sticky,
It's messy,
It's NOT easy.
Even when I think I laid my burdens down,
It turns out I didn't,
Time after time,
There are burdens UNSEEN that I haven't laid down yet.
What's one way I tell that I haven't laid down my burdens?
After the fact.
After the struggle is solve,
After the storm is gone,
If it feels like a thousand pound has been lifted off my shoulders,
That means there were burdens UNSEEN I haven't laid at the feet of Jesus.
If I had TRULY laid down my ALL burdens,
There would be nothing heavy to lift off,
I would feel light throughout the storm.
The fact that I feel such a relief,
Is proof that there were UNSEEN burdens still on my shoulders.
How about during the storm?
How can we tell if there are UNSEEN burdens.
Is it heavy or is it light?
If it's heavy,
If it's causing you stress,
If you can't sleep at night,
If you feel the tension in your body,
You have UNSEEN burdens you need to lay down at the feet of Jesus.
How do you do that when you've already tried?
Is it just not possible?
It IS possible,
But remember this is a SPIRITUAL BATTLE,
Don't give up,
Satan is trying his best to keep the burdens on you,
But you MUST persevere.
Keep SEEKING God,
Keep ASKING Him to teach you how to lay down the UNSEEN burdens,
Keep asking for WISDOM,
He WILL give it to you,
Because He said so.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it WILL be given to you."
"SEED first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Why is this so hard?
Because it's a SPIRITUAL BATTLE.
Satan's not going to let you go that easy.
He wants you to give up,
But if you don't,
He WILL leave,
Just hang on,
PERSEVERE.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Consider that you have spiritual muscles that are weak,
You haven't exercised it much,
But as you start to exercise it,
It WILL get stronger.
The process is SIMPLE,
But not always EASY.
It's ok,
Just hold on,
ENDURE.
Remember that Jesus said,
"In the world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!"
Have HOPE,
Have JOY,
Have PEACE,
Jesus is always with you,
For He has conquered the world for us,
So whenever the burdens are heavy,
Call upon His promises,
And ask Him to teach You how to surrender (again).

God, You said "[Your] yoke is easy, and [Your] burden is light",
TEACH me how to live this life,
God, You said "Cast your burden on the [Me], and [You] will sustain you",
SHOW me how to do this,
Teach me how to truly SURRENDER,
Lead me to REST in You,
Cause me to WALK in Your promises,
I CAN'T do this without You,
I need You to do it ALL.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the PEACE of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
"Dear Heavenly Father,
I'm a hot mess,
I have too many UNSEEN burdens.
I worry,
I stress,
I get frustrated,
Because things don't go my way,
And I forget about YOU and Your promises.
I forget that You are creator of the universe,
I forget that with ONE word, stars are born,
I forget that with ONE breath, man was made,
I forget that none of my mess is a surprise to You.
I let my problems be BIGGER than You,
I let my problem become an IDOL above You,
I have more faith in my PROBLEMS than I do in You,
Lord, forgive me.
I am weak,
I am shallow,
I am foolish,
I am proud.
Break me of myself,
Break me of my burdens,
Break me of my ambitions,
Break me of my desires,
Break me good, Lord,
Break me good.
Do as You please,
Do ALL You want in me.
In Jesus name, Amen."
