Pace Sacrifice
We may be willing to sacrifice our a morning once a week for church,
We may be willing to sacrifice some money for good deeds,
But asking for our TIME in a big way?
Whoaaah... pump the breaks.
TIME is the more valuable commodity we have.
We're willing to trade dollars for TIME,
But how about TIME for God's will?
"Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams."
If it's God's will is for you to NOT rush,
But to be present with your family, co-workers and friends,
Are you willing to sacrifice your PACE for God?
"whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way."
If it's God's will for you to not rush a needy client or colleague,
But to slow down to listen, empathize and pray with them,
Are you willing to sacrifice your PACE for God?
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
If it's God's will for you to spend quiet time with Him everyday,
To feed on His word and make Him #1,
Are you willing to sacrifice your PACE for God?
"Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?"
Choosing God's pace over our own is a sacrifice.
God doesn't need are money or efforts,
He just wants our hearts in loving obedience.
The world wants to tell us...
"We must obey God rather than men."
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me sacrifice my PACE for Your will,
Let not my heart be troubled by all busy-ness,
May I rest in Your arms and TRUST in Your timing.
Lord, remind me each time I rush to SLOW DOWN,
Tickle my brain to SLOW DOWN,
Bring to remembrance to SLOW DOWN.
Help me SLOW DOWN to Your PACE and not my own,
Help me VALUE Your PACE and not my own,
Help me ENJOY Your PACE more than my own.
May my PACE sacrifice be holy and pleasing to You,
In Jesus name, Amen."
