The Voice of Haste...
The world tells us to work harder,
The world trains us to think there's not enough time,
The world pushes us to grind,
In the name of productivity and success.
Behind our busy lifeSTYLE is a VOICE that,
Rushes our steps,
Pushes us to the edge,
Takes over our thoughts,
But does this style of life lead to LIFE?
The TRUTH is,
The hustle mentality is destroying mental health,
The pursuit of success is killing relationships,
The world is suffocating us one breath at a time,
And leading us to a living DEATH.
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death."
The shocking part is,
We think we're listening to God,
We think we're in God's will,
But are we?
Do we REALLY know the difference,
Between GOD's voice and the voice of HASTE?
What does God say about HASTE?
"whoever makes HASTE with his feet misses his way"
"Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be HASTY"
"Wealth gained HASTILY will dwindle"
The next time you're multi-tasking like a crazy person and thinking,
"Keep going faster, faster... faster",
That's the voice of HASTE,
But GOD's voice says,
"Ignorant zeal is worthless; HASTE makes waste."
The next time you can't focus on your family because your mind is running and thinking,
"I gotta get this done, then that done, and there's also X, Y, Z...",
That's the voice of HASTE,
But GOD's voice says,
"Be STILL and know that I am God".
The next time you are planning for your future and think,
"You gotta grow the business by X every year in order to be successful!"
That's the voice of HASTE,
But GOD's voice says,
"everyone who is HASTY comes only to poverty"
The next time someone talks sloooow and loooong and you're thinking,
"Get on with it already.",
That's the voice of HASTE,
But GOD's voice says,
"Do you see a man who is HASTY in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him."
The next time you're frustrated at waiting at a traffic light and thinking,
"Hurry up. I don't have all day."
That's the voice of HASTE,
But GOD's voice says,
"he who has a HASTY temper exalts folly".
Remember the FRUIT of the SPIRIT,
"LOVE, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control".
God is LOVE and,
"Love is patient, love is kind... not proud, rude or selfish, not easily angered"
If your FRUIT don't look like this,
Then the voice of HASTE is producing STINKY fruit in you.
Slooooooww down and remember God's word,
"For you shall not go out in HASTE, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard."
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness."
God's timing is perfect,
God's timing is the BEST option,
God's timing is BETTER than ours by a long shot,
So TRUST in Him,
And SLOOOOOOWWW down.
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Forgive my haste,
Forgive my plans,
Forgive my pride,
Forgive my ambitions,
All that stand against You.
Take me deeper into YOUR plans,
Align me with YOUR perfect timing,
Teach me to WAIT as long as You need,
So that you may complete Your good works in me.
In Jesus name, Amen."
