Thank God I FAILED...
It's been a year since I fell flat on my face,
Reaching a low I didn't know I'd reach,
Facing a reality I thought God would protect me from,
Facing a disappointment that would test my faith.
I FAILED.
I did NOT pass the test,
I SNAPPED like a twig,
The faith I thought was strong was WEAK,
The belief I thought I had was a DELUSION.
When push came to shove,
I turned my back on Jesus,
Just for a day,
Then I yelled at Him,
I blamed Him,
I resented Him.
I FAILED.
I was a child in diapers,
Throwing a temper tantrum,
Because I didn't get things my way.
I went from thinking I was a maturing Christian,
To seeing that I was a spoiled brat.
I FAILED.
The "love" I thought I had for Christ,
Was like counterfeit money,
Worth nothing,
Backed by nothing,
Stood for nothing.
I fell at the first gust of wind,
I crumbled at the slightest touch,
I melted in the lightest heat.
I thought I was steel,
But I was wax,
I thought I was a fortress,
But I was a hut,
I thought I was strong,
But I was weak.
"My power is made perfect in weakness."
Thank God I FAILED.
It was the best wake-up call,
It was a gift from God,
It was a blessing in disguise,
It was a life-long lesson,
I am ever grateful that I FAILED.
Looking back,
One year later,
I'm no better by human standards,
But I am far richer in spirit,
For I have TASTED God,
In ways that can only come from FAILING with Him,
For I have HELD God,
In ways that can only come from FAILING with Him.
Thank You God for letting me FAIL,
For that is true VICTORY,
For when I am weak,
You are strong,
When I am on my face,
You lift me up.
"I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Lord, Thank You for the worldly FAILURE,
Lord, Thank You for the heavenly VICTORY,
I praise You with ALL my heart and soul.
"Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Do ALL that you want in me,
Crush me,
Break me,
Melt me,
Shape me,
Fill me,
Send me,
Use me,
Take ALL the time You need,
May ALL be pleasing in Your eyes.
Thank You for Your WAYS,
Thank You for Your TIMING,
Thank You for Your PATIENCE,
Thank You for Your FAITHFULNESS,
Thank You for Your GENTLENESS,
Thank You for Your COMFORT,
Thank You for Your TRAINING,
Thank You for Your PRUNING,
Thank You for Your CRUSHING,
Thank You for Your DISCIPLINE,
Thank You for Your PURIFYING,
Thank You for Your STRENGTH,
Thank You for Your JOY,
Thank You for Your PEACE,
Thank You for Your CHILD-LIKE FAITH,
Thank You for Your LOVE,
Thank You Lord for EVERYTHING!
In Jesus name, Amen."
Cheers to trusting God in your FAILURES,
To let Him do the hard things IN you,
Even if it hurts and is unpleasant,
It will bear much fruit,
If you persevere to the end.
