If There Is To Be One Resolution...
In this season of new beginnings,
A new blank slate,
An fresh new year,
Like untouched new snow on the ground,
If there is to be ONE resolution,
Let it be this,
Lord, may my heart align with Yours,
May my eyes align with Yours,
May my hands align with Yours,
May my feet align with Yours.
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
If there is to be ONE resolution,
Let it be this,
That my ONLY desire would be to please You,
That my ONLY ambition would be to serve You,
That my ONLY goal would be to be used by You,
That my ONLY dream would be to be by You.
"May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed."
If there is to be ONE resolution,
Let it be this,
That my choices would be Your desire,
That my obedience would be Your delight,
That my fruits would be Your Spirit,
That my life would be worship to You.
If there is to be ONE resolution,
Let it be this,
May You abide in me and I in You.
That I do nothing unless I abide in You,
That I say nothing unless I abide in You,
That I think nothing unless I abide in You.
"Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
May I delight You more this year than I did the last,
For what else could be more important than that?
