Are You Ready? Okay... Let's Roll.
On the fateful day 14 years ago,
Sept 11, 2011,
Todd Beamer used the phone on the plane,
And spoke to a call center supervisor,
And asked her to pray the Lord's Prayer with him.
It's as if he knew his time was up,
That he was about to do something irreversible,
And He sought God as His solace,
With another sister in Christ.
God placed Lisa on his path,
The call center supervisor that took over the call
So they can pray together,
So she can deliver the message to his loving wife,
Who was also named Lisa and was pregnant,
That he loved them very much.
Lisa heard the last words of Todd,
Talking to the other passengers of a hijacked plane,
"Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll."
As they gave up their lives,
To save the lives of others they never knew.
"No one has greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends."
As Jesus followers,
As Christians,
As believers,
Can we believe in God's word enough to do the same?
When God calls you to be kind to a stranger,
Someone who might look weird,
Talk obnoxiously,
Be rude and unpleasant,
Can you die to self,
Hear what God wants you to do and say to yourself,
"Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll."
When God has a plan that doesn't make sense,
When God is having you do things that everyone else questions,
Can you stand firm in faith,
Can you "set [your] face like FLINT [on Jesus],
Knowing [you] will not be put to shame" saying to yourself,
"Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll."
When there a chance to share Jesus,
In front of a business group that may reject you,
When there's nothing standing between you and sharing,
Except fear,
Are you willing to take a RISK just to share Jesus and say to yourself,
"Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll."
What is a business if we can't talk about Jesus?
What is a social life if we can't pray together?
What is a day without taking a RISK for Jesus and telling yourself,
"Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll."
How would business and life be different,
If we had the attitude of,
"If I perish, I perish" for Jesus?
What RISK would you take in your BUSINESS for Jesus?
What RISK would you take in your SOCIAL life for Jesus?
"Dear Jesus,
Thank You for enduring an eternal 9/11 for me,
Thank You for taking the RISK for me,
Thank You for being OBEDIENT unto Your death for me,
Even though You feared eternal separation,
It's as if You told yourself,
'Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll.'
Thank You for making plans to save me before creation,
In spite of the fact that I...
Fail You,
Betray You,
Disobey You,
Not trust You,
Over and over again,
You chose to create me anyways saying,
'Are you ready? Okay... Let's roll.',
Knowing You would have to DIE for me.
Thank You for taking the RISK for me,
Thank You for taking the FALL for me,
Thank You for taking the SIN for me,
Thank You for taking the second DEATH for me.
In return...
Help me take a RISK for You today,
Grant me BOLDNESS and courage,
To shine Your light BRIGHTER than ever before,
To burn HOTTER for You than ever before,
And not shy away from ANY opportunity to share You.
