If You Knew How Little...

As humans, we love to make plans.
We have plans of all sizes,
Small, medium and large.

A small plan... "I plan to go to the store this afternoon and buy some more soap."
A medium plan... "I plan to go have dinner with a friend next week."

A big plan... "I plans to make a million dollars, be financially free, THEN dedicate myself to God."

I can't help but imagine God shaking His head and saying,
"IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

As humans, we think we know a whole lot more than we actually do.

How many times have we planned to go to the grocery store but didn't make it?
God may be whispering, "IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

How many times have dinner plans with a friend been canceled?
Another reminder from God, "IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

How many times has business plans or ventures not gone as planned?
And God may whispering again, "IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

We try to predict the weather, but we can't.
We try to make plans for trips but it may get canceled.
We may plan for an important business meeting but it may go south.
We just never know.

"IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

We can't even guarantee a small plan to happen much less the big ones.
YET we have this delusion that we can make our plans succeed.
This completely CONTRADICTS what God says.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do NOT lean on your own understanding."

Buuuuuttt....

Our understanding says to make 5 and 10 year goals to look smart.
Our understanding says to hustle and work till you drop.
Our understanding says that slowing down is foolish and God can wait 'til later.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death."

God taps you on the shoulder again,
"IF YOU KNEW HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW, YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME MORE READILY."

When will we see that our "smart" plan has so many holes in it?

We have no idea that the shopping trip we planned would lead us into an traffic jam or an accident.
We have no idea that dinner with a friend would give you food poisoning.
We have no idea that the partner of your new business deal will end up backing out or stealing from you.
We JUST DON'T KNOW,
But God does.

Why don't we ask Him FIRST?
Why do we make decisions WITHOUT God?
Why do we rely on our own wisdom and "common sense" to lead us when we have 24/7 access to God?

"Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. "

Jesus says that we must ask God,
"Give us this day our daily bread".

This means to seek God EVERY day.

Spending DAILY quiet time with God is the BEST thing you can do for your business and your life.
God would NEVER have a plan that keeps you from spending time with Him. He would never put you on a path were you don't to SEEK Him for days, weeks and months.
So if you think it's God's plan to hold off on seeking Him a little bit longer, that's a LIE.

You may think, "I love God and I'm living for Him."
But if we bear fruit of NOT spending time with God, it may be an evil fruit disguised as God's fruit.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Satan is doing everything he can to prevent you from seeking God because if you do, you'll start spoiling his traps and schemes against you.
If we spend daily time with God ASK Him questions, we'll start getting supernatural INTEL to do the right things and avoid Satan's pitfalls.

If you're not used to sitting down and asking God questions, start with this ONE simple question.
"God, how can I serve YOU today?"

"Dear Heavenly Father,
How can I serve You today?
Help me set aside my desires,
My plans,
My ways,
And conform to Yours.

Help me realize how helpless and weak my plans really are,
Help me see how wonderful and perfect Yours are.
Keep my ears from hearing the lies of the enemy,
And open my ears to You truths.

Open my heart to SEEK You,
To FOLLOW You,
To OBEY You,
For that is the beginning of true wisdom.

May I be a fool by worldly standards,
And upright by Your standards,
May I be humble and meek,
So you can lift me up in your righteous right hand.

Draw me closer to you today, tomorrow and forever,
In Jesus name Amen."

Cheers to knowing how LITTLE we know and chunking our lame plans out the window.
Let's FOLLOW Jesus instead of asking Him to follow us. Wohooo!! ^_^
